West Delhi YouTuber arrested after ramming motorcycle into schoolgirls for online views

On the evening of June 2, a 32-year-old YouTuber allegedly rammed his motorcycle into a scooter ridden by two Class X sisters under a flyover in West Delhi to create a video for social media. The accused, Gurman Singh, a resident of Subhash Nagar, was subsequently arrested by the Delhi Police after refusing to delete the video, which had attracted inappropriate comments targeting the minor girls.

The two sisters were heading home from a tuition class when Singh hit their two-wheeler from behind. According to the girls' father, Singh apologised at the scene but also talked down to them. The family only discovered the footage a couple of days later when a relative shared a link to a YouTube video showing the collision.

In the video, Singh was heard preaching to the girls about how to drive. After finding the video, which had drawn inappropriate comments from viewers, the father attempted to contact Singh through a neighbour to request its deletion. Singh refused to take down the clip, prompting the father to file a police complaint.

The Delhi Police arrested Singh under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Hareshwar Swami stated that a police team conducted digital forensic analysis, technical surveillance, and electronic evidence examination to trace and apprehend the suspect.

During questioning, Singh allegedly confessed to creating the videos to increase his social media following, generate viral content, and earn revenue through monetisation. He told officers he intentionally targeted women riders because such videos generated higher engagement and gave him personal gratification.

Singh operated social media accounts on Facebook and YouTube, including a channel named 'Road Safety Wala' with roughly 70,000 subscribers. Police revealed that Singh recorded his videos using a Go-Pro camera attached to his bike’s side mirror to avoid detection.

According to the police, at least four previous complaints had been filed against Singh for similar behavior. His channel featured numerous videos of him heckling women, trans people, children, and senior citizens by honking or hitting their vehicles to provoke reactions.
