Bus Driver and Conductor Arrested for Alleged Rape of Minor Boarded at Pari Chowk

Police have arrested a bus driver and a conductor for allegedly gang-raping a 16-year-old student inside a moving sleeper bus after picking her up from Pari Chowk on the night of August 4. The vehicle travelled nearly 47 kilometres across the National Capital Region before the suspects abandoned the victim near the Kashmere Gate bus terminal.

The accused have been identified as bus driver Kuldeep and conductor Sandeep. Both were arrested from a bus parking lot in Timarpur, and police seized the sleeper bus involved in the incident for forensic examination.

According to police, the victim is a Class 11 student from the Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh. She had left her home following a disagreement and was travelling to visit her cousin in Noida. Amid heavy rain and darkness, she mistakenly got off at Pari Chowk and became stranded.

While she was seeking help, an empty sleeper bus passed by. The victim signalled the vehicle to stop. The driver and conductor allowed her to board after claiming that the bus was heading towards Noida Sector-63.

Shortly after the bus departed, the conductor allegedly began making obscene advances toward the student. The driver and conductor then raped her inside the vehicle and threatened to kill her when she resisted. Police noted that the vehicle's curtained interior prevented passersby from seeing inside during the journey.

Prior to the incident, the accused had taken the bus to a workshop in Surajpur for repairs following a mechanical breakdown. After completing the repairs, they were driving the empty bus toward Timarpur when they encountered the student at Pari Chowk.

After driving approximately 47 kilometres to Delhi, the suspects dropped the victim on the Ring Road near the Kashmere Gate bus terminal late at night and fled. The student contacted the Kashmere Gate police to report the crime. Further investigation remains underway.
