Delhi Draft Electoral Roll Out as Rohini Leads Voter Digitisation at 83.43%
Delhi's draft electoral roll was published on Monday, with the Rohini Assembly constituency recording the highest rate of voter form digitisation across the city at 83.43 per cent. Across the capital, the draft roll excluded 47.7 lakh electors out of a total voter base of 1.45 crore.
The draft roll contains approximately 97.5 lakh electors whose enumeration forms were successfully received and digitised during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The SIR was conducted through a comprehensive house-to-house enumeration exercise that commenced on June 30 and concluded on August 17.
Citywide, forms belonging to around 67.18 per cent of Delhi's 1,45,10,299 registered electors were digitised. The remaining 47.7 lakh electors did not figure in the draft roll after being categorised as "uncollectable" under the Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and Others (ASDDO) criteria.
The extent of digitisation showed wide variation across Delhi's 70 Assembly constituencies. While Rohini topped the list with an 83.43 per cent digitisation rate, Tughlakabad recorded the lowest coverage in the city at 52.15 per cent.
According to the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer, electors who have been excluded from the draft roll can seek inclusion by filing claims through Form 6 along with supporting documents until September 30. Electors whose forms were not received during the house-to-house exercise have been permitted to apply through this claims and objections window.
Under the revised schedule set by the Election Commission, claims and objections will be examined, and the notice and disposal process will continue through October 29. The final electoral roll for Delhi is scheduled to be published on November 4.
