Two Men Arrested For Robbing UPSC Aspirant Near CNG Park In Timarpur

Delhi Police arrested two men on July 10 for allegedly choking, assaulting, and robbing a 25-year-old UPSC aspirant near CNG Park in the Timarpur area of Delhi. The robbery occurred early in the morning on July 6 when the victim, Ankit Singh Kushwaha, was returning to his residence.

According to the police, Kushwaha was walking home after studying at a library at around 5 AM when two men intercepted him. The attackers choked him and assaulted him with their fists before robbing him of his mobile phone. The two suspects then fled the scene on foot.

Following the assault, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered at the Timarpur police station. A special team from the Delhi Police was formed to launch an investigation into the robbery.

To track down the suspects, the police team analyzed footage from approximately 110 CCTV cameras installed around the area of the crime to trace their movements. After obtaining clear images of the suspects from one of the security cameras, the police circulated these photographs among their local informers.

The investigation led the police to Mukundpur, where they conducted searches at nearly 150 houses. On July 10, the team successfully located and arrested the two suspects from their rented accommodation in the area.

The arrested individuals were identified by the police as 28-year-old Rajender, also known as Kallu, and 25-year-old Upender Shah. Both men currently reside in Mukundpur and are originally from Nepal. Police noted that Rajender is a history-sheeter from Shalimar Bagh.

According to officials, the arrest of Rajender and Upender Shah has also helped the Delhi Police solve four other pending criminal cases. These resolved cases include incidents of robbery, snatching, and vehicle theft in the city.
