Two Dozen Evacuated After Fire Breaks Out at Parikrama Restaurant in Connaught Place

A fire broke out in an oil fryer in the kitchen of the Parikrama restaurant on the 24th floor of a building in Connaught Place, Central Delhi. The incident, which occurred at around 3:40 pm, prompted a swift evacuation of nearly two dozen people who were inside the establishment. No injuries or major damage were reported as emergency services and restaurant staff quickly brought the situation under control.
The Delhi Fire Service received an emergency call reporting the blaze at around 3:40 pm. In response to the alert, fire officials promptly dispatched seven fire tenders to the Connaught Place location to address the fire on the building's 24th floor.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters immediately responded to the emergency. They successfully evacuated nearly two dozen people, including restaurant customers and staff members, who were inside the dining area and kitchen at the time of the incident.
According to preliminary information, the fire originated directly within an oil fryer in the restaurant's kitchen. Staff members first noticed the flames and immediately initiated fire-safety measures to prevent the blaze from spreading.
Fire officials later noted that the restaurant had functioning fire-safety systems in place. These systems worked effectively during the emergency, playing a crucial role in helping to avert a major accident.
Thanks to the quick activation of these safety systems and the prompt arrival of the Delhi Fire Service, the fire was brought under control before it could spread any further. The incident concluded with no reported injuries to any customers or staff, and no major damage was caused to the 24th-floor property.
