Three Daily Wage Laborers Die Inside Mundka Septic Tank

Three daily wage laborers died on Friday after entering a septic tank in the Mundka area of New Delhi. The deceased, identified as Arun, Chand, and Sandeep, were the sole breadwinners for their families. The tragedy has devastated three families, leaving behind wives, young children, and elderly parents who depended entirely on the men's earnings.
The three laborers had left their homes on Friday morning expecting to earn a day's wage. Hours later, they were brought to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital mortuary after dying inside the septic tank.
Outside the mortuary, relatives gathered to mourn lives that were interrupted mid-dream. Family members recalled the victims' hopes for their children. Arun had hoped to one day move his children to a private school, while Sandeep had recently felt pride over his daughter’s admission to a private school.
For Chand's family, the loss is compounded by the difficult task of breaking the news. His wife, Muskan, did not yet know that her husband had died inside the septic tank. Her mother, Heera, explained that she lacked the courage to tell her daughter.
Chand and Muskan have a two-year-old son who never leaves his father’s side, and an eight-month-old son. Heera recalled that when Chand was leaving for work on Friday morning, the elder son kept saying, "Papa, don’t go," and has continued to ask where his father is. A relative noted that the elder son's birthday was just a few months away, and the couple's wedding anniversary was also approaching.
Chand was not the only breadwinner whose family was shattered by the incident. Outside the mortuary, Chand's brother, Narender, could barely speak as he stood clutching a photograph of his younger brother on his mobile phone.
