Six Bhatti gang members arrested for planning petrol bomb attacks in Central Delhi

The Delhi Police have arrested six alleged associates of Pakistan-based terrorist Shehzad Bhatti who were planning a petrol bomb attack on a police station near ITO in Central Delhi. The arrested individuals had also conducted reconnaissance of a political party office in the area as another potential target for their operations.

According to Additional Commissioner of the Special Cell Pramod Kushwaha, Bhatti had instructed the suspects to target police establishments with petrol bombs. The arrests were made after intelligence inputs suggested that Bhatti’s network had activated two modules in Delhi on instructions from Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence.

The security agencies were alerted following a video in which Bhatti threatened the police. In the footage, the Pakistan-based terrorist warned authorities against naming him in ongoing investigations or arresting his men. Bhatti also claimed in the video that he had severed his ties with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi following the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

In response to the intelligence inputs, the Delhi Police formed three specialized teams to track down the suspects. These teams comprised Inspector Sunil Rajain, Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP Vivek Tyagi, and other officers. The teams conducted multiple raids across locations, which ultimately led to the arrest of the six associates.

Among those apprehended, police identified two suspects as Danish, also known as Chand Miya, aged 24, and his friend Salman, aged 20. Both individuals are from Muzaffarnagar and were arrested near Vijay Ghat in Central Delhi.

Following the operation, police recovered a significant cache of weapons and materials. Kushwaha confirmed that officers seized three petrol bombs, three pistols, five cartridges, two cars, and a stolen motorcycle. Additionally, police confiscated mobile phones from the suspects, which contained active chats with Pakistani handlers.
