New Delhi Air Quality Improves to Good Category with AQI of 44 on June 26

The air quality in New Delhi was recorded in the "Good" category on Friday, June 26, 2026, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) touching 44. The clean air conditions provided relief to residents and created ideal circumstances for outdoor recreation across the capital.
According to official data, key pollutant levels remained well within safe limits. Particles of PM2.5 were measured at 26 µg/m³, while PM10 levels were recorded at 32 µg/m³. Other gaseous pollutants also remained minimal, with Ozone (O3) recorded at 27 ppb, Carbon Monoxide (CO) at 285 ppb, and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) at 5 ppb.
With the temperature hovering at 37°C, the combination of low pollutant concentrations and clear conditions ensured there were no negative health impacts on the public. Residents were able to comfortably engage in outdoor activities.
The "Good" air quality on June 26 marked an improvement from the previous day. On Thursday, June 25, 2026, the city's AQI had risen to 57, placing it in the "Moderate" category.
The air quality in New Delhi has shown significant fluctuations over the past week. On Wednesday, June 24, the AQI was 48, which fell into the "Good" category. This followed a "Moderate" day on Tuesday, June 23, when the index peaked at 83, the highest recorded level of the week.
Earlier in the week, New Delhi residents experienced a cleaner spell. On Monday, June 22, the AQI was recorded at 39, the lowest and cleanest level of the seven-day period. On Sunday, June 21, the AQI was 45, following a "Moderate" reading of 68 on Saturday, June 20. The week began on Friday, June 19, with an AQI of 50, which sits at the upper limit of the "Good" classification.
With the index dropping back down to 44 on June 26, the atmospheric conditions returned to a highly favorable state for the local population.
