Man Fired After Saying He Expected Sex For Rs 370 Biryani Date At Pranit More Show

A public controversy has erupted in India after a 22-year-old audience member, Himanshu Jangra, was fired from his job following a viral comment he made at a live comedy show hosted by comedian Pranit More. During a crowdwork segment of the show, Jangra suggested that because he had spent Rs 370 on a biryani date, he expected sexual access in return. The remark triggered widespread social media backlash, leading to public criticism, apologies from both the comedian and the audience member, and Jangra's termination from his company.

The incident, which occurred recently, drew intense criticism online for reflecting entitlement and a disregard for consent. In the viral video clip, Jangra made the comment to More, who laughed along with the remark during the live show.

Following the public outrage, More issued an apology, admitting that he should have challenged Jangra's comment instead of laughing. Jangra also rendered an apology after facing severe backlash, which ultimately resulted in him being fired by his employer.

The controversy widened when a second clip from the same crowdwork session went viral on social media. In the second video, an audience member identified as a doctor, Dr. Sejal, spoke about medical students making jokes about the private parts of male cadavers during anatomy and post-mortem work.

This second clip triggered a separate wave of criticism and debate regarding the ethics of medical professionals. While some social media users defended Jangra's comments in a "tit-for-tat" manner by targeting Dr. Sejal, others raised concerns about her place of profession and medical training in general. Dr. Sejal eventually issued an apology for her remarks.

The dual controversies have sparked a broader online debate. Some people have condemned the remarks made by both audience members as vulgar and offensive, while others have defended them under the banner of freedom of expression. Comedian Pranit More has also faced criticism from other creators for initially benefiting from the viral nature of the clips before issuing his apology.
