LG TS Sandhu Clears DDA Land Allotment for Judicial Staff Housing in Rohini

Delhi Lieutenant Governor TS Sandhu has cleared the way for key public infrastructure, security, education, and community welfare projects by resolving long-pending land allotment issues, including the allocation of land for judicial staff housing in Rohini.

The breakthrough came after a comprehensive review by the Lieutenant Governor, who directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to streamline the allotment process. This decision successfully resolves years of delays that had been caused by poor coordination between various government departments.

The resolution of these land disputes is expected to significantly benefit the local judicial system. Under the newly approved plan, the DDA has allotted dedicated land for judicial staff housing in the Rohini and Shahdara localities to support court personnel. This move addresses a critical, long-standing need for residential infrastructure for staff members working within the judicial system.

In addition to the housing projects, the administrative clearance enables several security-related developments across the national capital. The DDA has allotted land for the construction of new police stations in Dilkusha Bagh, Sagarpur, Suyurpur, and Kishangarh. Furthermore, the Intelligence Bureau will set up new stations at Dheerpur and Tahirpur, while a new Forensic Science Laboratory is slated for construction in Narela to bolster security and forensics infrastructure.

The decision also facilitates major urban infrastructure and municipal waste management projects. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been allotted 20 hectares of land at Sanoth for a metro depot, alongside 16 hectares at Narela to set up a casting yard. These allotments are expected to support the expansion and maintenance of the city's metro network, helping to improve overall urban connectivity.

For municipal services, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been allotted land across 24 sites for fixed compactor transfer stations to improve solid waste management. Additionally, the MCD has received 10 acres of land at Ghazipur, with another 10.4 acres designated for the expansion of waste-to-energy and bio-methanisation facilities at the site to handle the city's municipal waste.
