Gurugram Police shoot dead four people including teenager in Sushant Lok encounter

Gurugram Police shot and killed four individuals, including a 17-year-old javelin athlete and an alleged gangster, during a late-night encounter in the Sushant Lok area of Gurugram late Thursday night.

The four deceased have been identified as a 17-year-old athlete, a Class 10 student named Nitin, a part-time labourer named Ankit, and Sandeep alias Deepa, an alleged gangster facing 14 criminal cases. Following post-mortem examinations, the bodies of all four individuals were handed over to their respective families.

The youngest of the deceased, the 17-year-old javelin athlete, was from Rohtak. According to his father, who runs an e-rickshaw garage, the teenager had been training at a stadium for the past two years. The father stated that his son left home on Wednesday after practice to get a motorcycle repaired but never returned. Having no mobile phone, the teenager could not be reached, prompting his father to file a missing person complaint in Rohtak. The father was later called by local police and the village sarpanch to identify the body at the Sector 29 police station in Gurugram.

According to the police, the teenager had left Rohtak on a motorcycle with Nitin, who was also killed in the encounter. Nitin’s father, Sanjay, a taxi driver in Rohtak, had also filed a missing person complaint after his son disappeared. Nitin was a Class 10 student who had two previous criminal cases registered against him in Rohtak, including charges of attempt to murder and violations under the Arms Act.

The third deceased individual, Ankit, worked as a part-time labourer and had studied up to Class 8. His father, Anil, who is also a labourer, stated that Ankit had left home two days prior to the incident, claiming he was traveling to Haridwar for the Kanwar Yatra.

The fourth person, Sandeep alias Deepa, was a resident of Fatehabad in Haryana. Police stated that Sandeep was facing 14 criminal cases in the state, including charges of robbery, attempt to murder, and offences under the Arms Act. He had left his family home several years ago, and his family maintained they did not know his whereabouts.

While the police are currently verifying the exact age of the 17-year-old, they confirmed that the other three individuals killed in the encounter were in the 20-24 age group.
