Four suspected gang members killed in shootout outside Sushant Lok home

Four alleged members of the Deepak Nandal gang were killed and another was injured during a 40-minute shootout with the Gurgaon Police Crime Branch outside the Sushant Lok home of businessman Vishal Beri on Thursday night. The gun battle, which began around 9:50 PM, successfully foiled an alleged extortion-cum-murder plot targeting the local businessman.
According to police, the incident began when a black Mahindra Scorpio with masked number plates pulled up outside Beri's two-storey house. Crime Branch teams, which had been on high alert following recent threats to local business families, were already stationed in the area.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Naveen Sharma stated that the police had received specific intelligence inputs over the last week regarding an imminent firing and murders. In response, Crime Branch teams from Sectors 40, 39, and 17 had set up a stakeout around potential targets.
When the suspects arrived, the pre-deployed police teams cordoned off the area and ordered them to surrender. The shooters ignored the warnings and opened fire on the police perimeter. Police retaliated in self-defence with long-range weapons in a controlled gunfight that lasted until approximately 10:30 PM.
Three police personnel—constables Manjeet Singh and Shamsher Singh, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Sunil Kumar—sustained bullet injuries during the encounter. They are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
All five suspects sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital. Four of the shooters succumbed to their injuries, while the fifth remains hospitalised in critical condition.
The deceased suspects were identified as Nitin and Deepa alias Sandeep, both history-sheeters from Rohtak and Fatehabad, along with Aryan and Ankit. The surviving shooter was identified as Shivam from Nuh. Police revealed that the plot was orchestrated by Deepak Nandal, who is allegedly operating the gang from London.
At the scene, police recovered a significant cache of weapons, including five modern pistols, over 50 empty shell casings, several live cartridges, and the Scorpio. An FIR has been registered at the DLF police station under the Arms Act and multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including attempt to murder and participating in organised crime syndicates.
