DTCP Seals Hotel Moonlight, Medicity Hospital and PGs in DLF Phase 3 Crackdown

The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) on Thursday sealed 11 illegal establishments, including a hospital, a hotel, and multiple paying guest (PG) accommodations, along Nathupur Road in DLF Phase 3, Gurugram.
The enforcement wing carried out the major crackdown following directives from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which had ordered an interim stay on stilt-plus-4-storey constructions.
Led by District Town Planner (Enforcement) Amit Madholia, the enforcement team was accompanied by a heavy police force and district administration officials. The action began around noon at S Block on Nathupur Road.
Among the prominent commercial properties sealed during the drive were ‘Hotel Moonlight’ operating from plot number NR-5, and ‘The Medicity’ hospital located at plot NR-45. Officials also shut down an illegal commercial office operating on plot NR-2.
The DTCP team also targeted several unauthorised PG accommodations in the locality. This included sealing Amaltas Apartments at S-23/1, which operated a 48-room PG. A 72-room facility spanning four floors at S-24/9, and a 25-room PG with a basement beauty parlor at S-24/1 were also sealed.
In addition to the sealing drive, officials used an earthmover to demolish illegal structures built within stilt parking spaces, marking a first for the DLF Phase 3 area.
By Friday, only security guards remained at the affected properties. A guard at Amaltas Apartments stated that the owner had arranged alternative housing across the city for more than 40 affected tenants. The owner reportedly plans to apply for a commercial licence to resume operations next week.
The guard at Amaltas Apartments noted that some tenants, including one from an Armed Forces family, argued with the town planner about the lack of notice. However, the official stated that the sealing could not be helped.
Outside The Medicity hospital, a guard confirmed that no one remained at the site, including the owner. Patients who were inside the hospital at the time of the drive were shifted to other facilities before the premises were locked.
