Delhi YouTuber Road Safety Wala arrested for harassing female riders

The Delhi Police have arrested a 32-year-old YouTuber, Gurman Singh, for allegedly targeting women riders and minor girls in West Delhi by deliberately crashing into their vehicles, harassing them, and uploading videos of the incidents to social media for financial gain.
Singh, who operated online under the alias "Road Safety Wala," was apprehended following a detailed investigation into his social media activities and a specific road harassment incident that occurred on June 2.
The police action was initiated after a father filed a formal complaint. The complainant alleged that on June 2, two men riding a motorcycle intentionally rammed his minor daughters' scooter from behind. Following the collision, the men pursued the girls, making inappropriate remarks and using abusive language against them.
A few days after the harrowing encounter, the father discovered that video footage of his minor daughters had been uploaded to YouTube and another social media platform. The videos were posted on accounts linked to Singh.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Hareshwar V Swami, a dedicated police team led by Inspector Vikas Buldak was tasked with investigating the case. The team tracked down and arrested Singh, who is currently pursuing an open graduation course from Khalsa College in Delhi.
Investigators revealed that Singh targeted female riders to create sensational content, aiming to build online popularity and generate revenue through social media monetization. At the time of his arrest, Singh's YouTube channel had accumulated approximately 21,000 followers, while another of his social media accounts had a significantly larger reach of about 2.1 lakh followers.
The arrest has put an end to the accused's pattern of exploiting female motorists on Delhi's roads for digital engagement and monetary profit.
