Delhi YouTuber Gurman Singh arrested for stalking and harassing women on roads

The Delhi Police have arrested a 32-year-old social media content creator, Gurman Singh, in West Delhi for allegedly stalking and harassing women and minor girls on roads and posting videos of the incidents online without their consent. Following his arrest, investigators revealed on Tuesday that they have uncovered seven to eight prior harassment complaints registered against him.
Singh, who is currently lodged in judicial custody under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, operated a YouTube channel with over 72,000 subscribers and more than 1 million views. He also ran a Facebook page with over 200,000 followers.
According to the police, Singh's modus operandi involved deliberately hitting vehicles or bicycles ridden by women and girls, then saying "Sorry didi" to initiate a conversation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Hareshwar Swami stated that during an incident on June 2, Singh hit a scooter ridden by girls, passed inappropriate remarks, and used abusive language against them. He later uploaded videos of the encounter online without their consent.
An investigator, speaking on the condition of anonymity, stated that Singh had been making YouTube videos since 2023. Over the past year, he began recording women and minors without their permission. In several videos, the victims spoke politely to him, unaware that they were being recorded.
"We have now found the complaints and will take action against him," the investigator said. "It’s not clear how many women were actually minors since there are multiple videos. Most complainants have alleged their vehicle was hit and the accused passed remarks while following them."
Delhi Police are currently reviewing more than 150 videos recovered from Singh's social media accounts and his mobile phone gallery. Investigators believe he used body cameras and potentially artificial intelligence (AI) glasses to record the footage. They are actively searching for these devices, noting that Singh wanted to shoot videos with women to gain more followers on social media.
To prevent other content creators from copying his videos, the Delhi Police have written to Meta India and Google requesting the removal of all of Singh's social media accounts.
