Delhi Temperatures Rise Slightly as IMD Forecasts Light Rain and Dry Week Ahead

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, Delhi experienced a slight rise in minimum temperatures as the India Meteorological Department forecast light rain and cloudy skies across the city, including key monitoring stations at Safdarjung, Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge, and Ayanagar. Although light showers and thunderstorms were expected during the day, the weather department projected dry conditions with no rain for the upcoming week.
The Safdarjung weather station, which serves as the representative marker for the city's weather, recorded a minimum temperature of 26.6 degrees Celsius. This reading was 0.7 degrees Celsius below the seasonal normal, but marked a 0.8-degree Celsius increase from the previous day.
Temperature readings varied across other local stations. Palam recorded a minimum of 24.5 degrees Celsius, representing a 0.1-degree rise from Friday. Lodhi Road saw a low of 26.2 degrees Celsius, which was 0.5 degrees higher than Friday's minimum. Meanwhile, Ridge and Ayanagar recorded lower temperatures than the previous day, registering 23.5 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, representing drops of 0.6 and 1.4 degrees respectively.
The India Meteorological Department did not issue any weather alerts for Saturday, but predicted that cloudy skies and scattered rain would persist. An IMD official noted that there was a possibility of very light to light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, during the forenoon hours.
While cloudy skies are expected to remain for the next few days, the IMD forecast indicated that no rain will occur in the coming week. The maximum temperature on Saturday was expected to increase, likely settling between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius.
Delhi's air quality remained in the satisfactory category on Saturday morning. The Central Pollution Control Board recorded the city's Air Quality Index at 91 at 9 a.m. This was an increase from the 24-hour average AQI of 65 recorded at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026.
