Delhi Government Transfers 52 Finance Officers and Promotes 19 in Major Reshuffle

The Delhi Government on Saturday implemented a major administrative reshuffle within its Finance and Accounts Department, transferring 52 finance officers who had been posted at the same location for five years or more. Alongside these transfers, the administration promoted 19 Senior Accounts Officers to the position of Deputy Controllers of Accounts.
The sweeping administrative changes, which affect a total of 71 officers, were carried out on the direct instructions of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. According to an official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, the reshuffle of the 52 transferred officials includes 23 Deputy Controllers of Accounts and 29 Senior Accounts Officers.
In addition to the transfers, the government promoted 19 Senior Accounts Officers to Deputy Controllers of Accounts, citing their performance. These newly promoted officers have been assigned fresh responsibilities in financial management across various government departments in Delhi. The administration has issued directives instructing all 71 officers involved in the reshuffle to assume charge of their new assignments immediately.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta explained that the extensive transfers and promotions were conducted on administrative grounds to promote integrity and transparency. She emphasized the government's goal to establish an administrative system that adheres to the highest standards of transparency, accountability, efficiency, and good governance.
"The government’s objective is to establish an administrative system that meets the highest standards of transparency, accountability, efficiency and good governance," Chief Minister Gupta said. She added that there is absolutely "no place for laxity, negligence or corruption at any level" within the administration.
Ms. Gupta described the exercise as a significant step that reflects the government’s commitment to fostering a more accountable, result-oriented, and public-centric work culture. She stated that timely decision-making, effective financial management, and an accountable administration will accelerate the implementation of government schemes and ensure public services are delivered in a transparent and efficient manner.
