Delhi Fire Services Contain Major Blaze at Chandan Hola Factory in Chhattarpur

In the early hours of Sunday, a massive fire broke out at a factory located near a bank in Chandan Hola, Chhattarpur, in South Delhi. The blaze engulfed exhibition items that were spread across an area of nearly two acres, prompting a major firefighting operation by the Delhi Fire Services that lasted for more than four hours.
The emergency response began after the Delhi Fire Services received the first distress call regarding the incident at 2:11 AM. In response to this initial call, two water tenders and two water bowsers were immediately dispatched to the factory site in the Chandan Hola area.
However, as the fire intensified, the department received additional emergency calls from the site, which led to a progressive upgrading of the firefighting response. To combat the growing flames, a total of 24 fire tenders were eventually deployed to the scene. The firefighting fleet also included a bulk foam tender and a multipurpose vehicle to assist in controlling the massive blaze.
According to fire officials, the fire was confined to the exhibition items stored inside a tin-shed area that spanned across the two-acre property. Firefighters worked to contain the flames and managed to completely surround the fire by around 5:00 AM, which successfully prevented the blaze from spreading further to other areas.
The Delhi Fire Services officially brought the fire under control by 6:30 AM. Over the course of the intense firefighting operation, the tin shed collapsed. Even after the main flames were successfully extinguished, fire crews remained on the scene to conduct cooling operations.
No casualties or injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
