Delhi e-Office Processes Over 1.4 Lakh Files As It Completes First Year

The Delhi government's digital e-Office system has completed its first year of operations, processing more than 1.4 lakh e-files and 9.2 lakh e-receipts since its rollout in July 2025. The transition has phased out paper-based processing across government offices in Delhi, shifting operations to a digital file management platform to streamline administrative tasks.
According to the chief minister's office, the digital platform now covers 235 departments and offices, serving a total of 15,748 active users. Official data highlights a substantial growth in adoption over the past year. On March 8, 2025, the platform was being used by 5,005 officers and employees across 198 departments and offices. By June 27, 2026, the user base had expanded to the current 15,748 active users across 235 departments.
The e-Office system formally completed its first year of service on July 1. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated on Sunday that the digital initiative has fundamentally transformed the daily functioning of government offices. She noted that the shift has successfully resulted in faster file disposal, improved transparency and accountability, and more timely delivery of public services.
Under the digital system, government departments process official files, correspondence, and approvals online rather than using physical paper files. The government stated that the platform allows authorities to track the movement of files in real-time. This tracking capability makes it possible to identify the specific officer handling a particular file and monitor the exact action taken on it, reducing the chances of files getting misplaced.
In addition to file tracking, the government stated that the digital transition has strengthened record management, reduced administrative delays, and improved overall coordination among various departments. The system's rollout has aimed to streamline governance by replacing traditional, slower physical file movements with a secure and instantaneous digital workflow across all participating offices.
