CJP Protesters Camp at Jantar Mantar Demanding Dharmendra Pradhan Resignation

Youth protesters from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) camped overnight at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, refusing to vacate the site on June 21, 2026, despite their police permission expiring. The demonstrators, including Noida-based Amazon employee Alauddin Ansari, are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET (UG) 2026 paper leak.
The protest, which began on Saturday morning, June 20, 2026, saw participants stay put through Sunday. Although police had only granted permission for the protest until 5:00 PM on Saturday, demonstrators remained at the venue. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke urged the protesters to stay at Jantar Mantar until the Education Minister steps down.
A senior police officer stated on Sunday that no arrests, cases, or detentions had been made, though some individuals accused of creating a ruckus were isolated.
The overnight demonstration presented several challenges for the participants. Prashant Sagar, a 27-year-old protester from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, noted that the ground remained hot until midnight. He also mentioned that police initially restricted food and water from entering the site, and the water connection to the toilets was cut. Following repeated requests, food and water were allowed inside around 11:00 PM on Saturday.
Among those staying overnight was 21-year-old Alauddin Ansari, a student of Shoolini University in Himachal Pradesh who works at Amazon in Noida. Ansari stated that he decided not to step outside the venue on Sunday to avoid being blocked from returning by the police.
Another protester, 27-year-old Sachin Sangwan, expressed disappointment at the Sunday turnout but emphasized the importance of the gathering, stating that the protest would create a sense of fear among the authorities.
To keep spirits high during the harsh summer heat, organizers played patriotic songs on speakers near the stage. The CJP has vowed to continue its agitation at the site until their demands are met.
