Three Arrested for Trafficking Women at G B Road Brothel in Delhi
Three women have been arrested for allegedly trafficking and forcing women into prostitution at a brothel on G B Road in Delhi, police said on Monday. Two women, both hailing from West Bengal, were rescued from the area following police intervention.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Geeta, Manju, and Paro Khatoon. Police stated that all three were caretakers and workers at the brothel. The accused were previously involved in a similar human trafficking case registered at Kamla Market police station in 2025 and were out on bail when they were apprehended.
The rescue operation was initiated after a 26-year-old married woman and mother of three from West Bengal contacted her family on August 25. The victim, who had been missing since May 2, informed her mother that she was being confined at a brothel on G B Road.
On August 26, the victim's mother approached the Women Police Post for assistance. A police team reached the premises and rescued the woman. During the inquiry, the victim told officers that a man named Kalu had befriended her at a railway station in West Bengal under the pretext of arranging employment. He brought her to Delhi, took away her mobile phone, and sold her to Geeta.
Geeta kept the woman at her residence for about a month before moving her to G B Road, where she was handed over to the brothel owner. The victim was allegedly forced into prostitution, and the money she earned was confiscated by Geeta and Manju, police said.
During the police operation, a second victim, aged around 28, approached officers seeking help. She told police that she and her eight-year-old son had left their home nearly two years ago following a quarrel with her husband and mother-in-law. A woman befriended them and brought them to Delhi under the false promise of domestic work.
Upon arrival, she was forced into prostitution at the G B Road brothel. The caretakers allegedly threatened to harm her young son if she refused to work. The boy was later moved to a hostel by Paro Khatoon, and police said efforts are underway to trace him.
Police have registered two separate cases under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Immoral Traffic Act. Further investigation into the trafficking network is in progress.
