Delhi Master Plan 2047 Proposes Corridors Linking Noida Airport and NCR

Four high-speed link corridors have been proposed under the Delhi Master Plan 2047 to improve road connectivity across the National Capital Region, including direct links connecting the Greater Noida Expressway and Noida International Airport in Jewar to Delhi.
The proposed corridors aim to make travel between Delhi and neighbouring cities in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana faster while reducing traffic pressure on congested roads in the capital. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to connect NCR cities through a network of ring roads and link corridors rather than directing regional traffic through central Delhi.
Among the key proposals is the extension of Urban Extension Road-II from the National Highway-8 and Dwarka area towards the Greater Noida Expressway and the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar. The corridor is planned to establish a direct connection between Indira Gandhi International Airport and Jewar airport, facilitating regional movement as passenger and flight operations develop at the new airport.
A second corridor will extend Urban Extension Road-I from the NH-1 GT Road towards the Ghaziabad-Loni-Baghpat Expressway. This route will provide motorists travelling from Sonipat, Narela, and Bawana an alternative path to reach Ghaziabad and other parts of Uttar Pradesh.
A separate link has been proposed between Dwarka Sector 21 and HUDA City Centre in Gurugram to provide an additional connection between Delhi and Gurugram, helping reduce vehicular loads on NH-48 and the Dwarka Expressway. Another link from Dwarka towards Jhajjar is planned to improve connectivity between west Delhi and Haryana, serving the area around AIIMS Jhajjar.
The network is expected to take traffic pressure off Delhi's Inner and Outer Ring Roads, Signature Bridge, and Wazirabad Bridge, while facilitating movement across the Yamuna.
The Master Plan 2047 also includes a proposal to introduce congestion charges for traffic moving between Delhi and neighbouring cities such as Noida and Ghaziabad.
