DDA to Host Over 20 Stakeholder Meetings to Push MPD-2047 Rollout

Following the notification of the Master Plan for Delhi-2047 by the Centre, the Delhi Development Authority will launch an outreach drive across New Delhi to accelerate its implementation, officials said on Sunday. Under the directions of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the authority will hold more than 20 stakeholder meetings over the next three months.
The engagement initiative aims to connect directly with elected representatives, government agencies, professional bodies, industry representatives, residents, and landowners. According to the DDA, the meetings will provide a platform for focused discussions on the provisions of MPD-2047 and facilitate greater coordination in translating the vision into action.
To boost industrial growth, the DDA will consult industry bodies and chambers, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), and Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC). These consultations will focus on measures to promote industrial development and facilitate land availability for industry.
The authority stated that architects, planners, professional institutions, and private developers will be engaged in discussions on development opportunities under Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), High-Density Corridors (HDC), and Land Pooling frameworks.
As part of the outreach, the DDA will hold separate interactions with Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly on key provisions of MPD-2047, including TOD, HDC, Land Pooling, and Low-Density Areas. Dedicated meetings are also planned with government agencies and service providers to strengthen inter-departmental coordination.
At the grassroots level, the DDA will reach out to Resident Welfare Associations, Group Housing Societies, and Cooperative Group Housing Societies to discuss the redevelopment of group housing. The outreach will also cover thematic areas including Low-Density Areas, rejuvenation of the Yamuna and Delhi's blue-green network, heritage conservation, mixed-use development, commercial centre redevelopment, in-situ slum redevelopment, and decongestion measures.
