BJP Rejects Demand to Use PM CARES Fund for Rural School Infrastructure

NEW DELHI — The Bharatiya Janata Party has hit back at Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke following his demand that the PM CARES Fund be directed towards upgrading infrastructure in rural government schools.
The political exchange began after Dipke questioned the allocation of resources and suggested that the funds should be repurposed for educational facilities. Citing a total collection of Rs 8,452 crore under the fund, Dipke questioned how many rural government schools could have been renovated and upgraded with that amount.
Dipke made the remarks as part of his ongoing 'School Thik Karo' (Improve Schools) campaign, an initiative he launched last week to bring attention to infrastructure deficits and related problems in state-run schools.
In response, the BJP rejected the proposal, clarifying that the PM CARES Fund is strictly designated for emergency situations and disaster relief operations. The ruling party also targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the remarks.
In a post published on social media platform X, the BJP Goa unit accused Kejriwal of failing to explain basic administrative facts to his associates.
"PM CARES funds are meant for emergency and disaster relief. Mr. @ArvindKejriwal, you taught your men good theatrics, but not basic facts. That’s not surprising," the party stated.
The BJP further challenged Kejriwal regarding the condition of government schools in Punjab, asking when he planned to take Dipke on an inspection of educational institutions in that state.
