Suspected Monkey Skull Found in Passenger Baggage at Delhi Airport

Security personnel at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi intercepted a passenger traveling to Hyderabad after discovering a suspected monkey skull hidden inside their hand baggage on August 10.
The discovery was made by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel during routine pre-embarkation security screening. When questioned by security officers, the passenger stated that the object recovered from the luggage was a monkey skull.
Due to the suspected wildlife connection, CISF personnel handed the passenger over to the local police for further action under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
Police said an official opinion from the Wildlife Department is required to establish the exact identity of the object and determine whether carrying it constitutes a violation of the law. Officials confirmed that this evaluation process is currently being followed.
Police added that further legal action will be taken if the Wildlife Department's assessment establishes a violation.
