Structures Outside Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi Demolished by Authorities

A section of structures erected outside the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi was demolished on Thursday, August 20, 2026, after authorities determined that they extended beyond the mission's approved boundary, according to official sources.
The demolition action was carried out by the concerned civic and administrative agencies using a JCB machine. The machinery was deployed to clear structures and barricades that had been set up along the lane directly outside the diplomatic compound, including queue-management installations located near the mission's visa section.
The operation left a significant trail of debris across the paved area outside the high commission. Visuals from the site showed broken metal railings, gates, twisted metal frames, roofing sheets, loose bricks, and substantial chunks of concrete and plaster scattered along the pavement.
Several outer structures were brought down completely during the exercise, including sections of corrugated roofing and white metal fencing. The facade surrounding the mission's public service windows also sustained damage during the clearance, with portions of plaster and exterior masonry breaking away.
Despite the surrounding rubble, the visa section remained visible. Service counters in the area included windows marked "Window 1", "Pakistani Passport Only", and "Window-5 / Collection of Visa Applications". Broken fencing and remnants of construction material lay scattered around these counters following the removal work.
The main entrance to the Pakistan High Commission remained unaffected by the demolition drive. The entrance, characterised by white walls, domed architectural features, and large metal gates bearing the Pakistani state emblem, stayed intact, with barbed-wire fencing visible along portions of the mission's compound perimeter.
The enforcement action in the capital took place days after authorities in Pakistan removed security barricades and parking poles situated outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
