Delhi Traffic Police Propose Loop at Yashobhoomi, Road Fixes Across Dwarka

The Delhi Traffic Police has suggested a series of road and traffic engineering interventions across west and south-west Delhi, including Dwarka, to ease persistent congestion and improve commuter safety. The proposals follow a recent joint meeting between traffic police officials and multiple civic and infrastructure agencies.
Among the key proposals for Dwarka, the traffic police are planning a dedicated traffic loop at the junction opposite Yashobhoomi, the India International Convention and Expo Centre. The proposed loop aims to streamline vehicular movement converging from Urban Extension Road II (UER-II) and Dwarka.
On UER-II, traffic police and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) identified missing regulatory signages and inadequate speed-limit displays at critical locations. To address these gaps, the traffic police have requested larger speed-limit boards, "No U-Turn/No Entry" signs, rumble strips, PVC bollards, variable message displays, and speed-detection cameras.
Speed cameras have also been sought at the entry and exit points of the Dwarka Expressway, as well as near Metro Quarters and Deenpur-Goyla.
Additionally, the traffic police have sought Public Works Department (PWD) intervention on the Uttam Nagar-Dwarka Mor stretch. Proposed measures include the redevelopment of the Dabri Mor roundabout and the introduction of a new U-turn and traffic signal at Dabri Gol Chakkar.
The review identified trouble spots across key stretches connecting Dwarka, Uttam Nagar, Najafgarh, Nangloi, Peeragarhi, and Rohtak Road. Representatives from the PWD, NHAI, Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), and BSES took part in the deliberations.
Other proposed infrastructure interventions in surrounding areas include repairs along the Nangloi-Najafgarh Road from Nangloi Chowk towards Bani Camp, repairs on the Outer Ring Road between the Vikaspuri and Peeragarhi flyovers, and pedestrian infrastructure such as a foot overbridge or skywalk at Peeragarhi Chowk and a crossing near Dipali Chowk Metro station.
"We have verbally discussed these issues with all. We’ll soon formalise a proposal," a senior traffic police officer said.
