Rain Brings Relief from Humidity in Delhi as IMD Forecasts Evening Thunderstorms

A spell of rain brought down the heat in New Delhi on Thursday, offering residents much-needed relief from sticky and humid weather conditions across the capital.

Several parts of the city remained under cloudy skies throughout the day as weather authorities forecast additional spells of precipitation.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain was expected across the city between 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm. During this afternoon window, temperatures were forecast to hover around 33 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a 20 percent chance of rainfall.

Weather conditions were anticipated to intensify later in the day. The IMD forecast an increase in rain activity during the evening hours, predicting scattered thunderstorms between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm.

During the evening period, temperatures across the national capital were expected to remain between 31 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius, with the likelihood of rain increasing to 35 percent.
