One Dead, Five Injured in Truck Gas Cylinder Blast at Tikri Kalan CNG Station

One person died and five others were injured after the gas cylinder of a truck exploded while being refilled at a CNG station in outer Delhi's Tikri Kalan on Wednesday, police said.

The explosion took place during the refuelling process, impacting several people who were in the immediate vicinity. Six people who were standing nearby sustained injuries in the blast and were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention.

The Delhi Fire Service received an alert regarding the incident at 3.37 p.m. Following the distress call, six fire tenders were dispatched to the CNG station to attend to the emergency and secure the premises.

According to a fire service officer, one of the victims died, while the remaining five injured individuals are currently undergoing medical treatment at the hospital. Further details regarding their medical condition remain awaited.

The blast triggered panic in the Tikri Kalan area. Fire service personnel initiated necessary precautionary measures at the scene to ensure safety and confirmed that the situation was successfully brought under control.

Authorities stated that the exact cause behind the cylinder explosion has not yet been determined, and an official investigation into the incident is currently under way.
