Noida Techie Vinay Gupta Beaten to Death by In-Laws in Outer Delhi

A 31-year-old software engineer working in Noida was allegedly beaten to death by his in-laws at his residence in outer Delhi's Laxmi Park on Friday, August 21, 2026, following a matrimonial dispute, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Vinay Gupta, who was employed with a multinational company in Noida. Police stated that a murder case is being registered in connection with the incident, and four individuals have been identified and detained for questioning.

Gupta had been married to his 31-year-old wife, a homemaker from Budh Vihar, for approximately three and a half years. The couple has four-and-a-half-month-old twin children, a boy and a girl.

According to the police, a dispute erupted between Gupta and his wife on Friday morning. The wife subsequently contacted her family members, who arrived at the residence in the Nihal Vihar area and allegedly assaulted him.

Gupta's family stated that six relatives from his wife's family arrived at the house around 11 a.m. to discuss the couple's issues. Gupta's mother had stepped away to arrange water and refreshments for the visitors when the assault began.

Upon returning, Gupta's mother found her son being beaten and attempted to intervene. Family members alleged that she pleaded with the attackers to spare her son and shouted for help, but the physical assault continued inside the home.

Gupta sustained severe injuries during the assault and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

His father mentioned that the couple had been experiencing disputes over minor issues for some time, and the family had hoped to resolve the matter peacefully through discussion before the situation turned violent.

Officers from the Nihal Vihar police station arrived at the scene after receiving information about the incident. A forensic team was also called to collect evidence from the premises. Police confirmed that the body has been taken into custody for necessary legal proceedings.
