NHAI Opens 9-km DND Flyway to Jaitpur Stretch for Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

NHAI Opens 9-km DND Flyway to Jaitpur Stretch for Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has opened the 9-km stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway between the DND Flyway and Jaitpur on a trial basis. The newly opened section provides relief to commuters travelling between Ashram, Kalindi Kunj, and Faridabad, while offering smoother connectivity for motorists in Noida.

With this section now operational, drivers from Noida, Ghaziabad, east Delhi, and south Delhi can seamlessly access the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to travel uninterrupted toward destinations including Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur.

Nearly 8.5 km of the newly opened 9-km stretch is elevated. Officials stated that trial runs are carried out only after all construction work is completed and comprehensive safety audits are conducted.

With the opening of the DND-Jaitpur section, a total of 50 km of the 59-km Delhi link from the DND Flyway to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s junction with the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway has now been opened in phases. The stretch between Jaitpur and the KMP interchange had already been opened to vehicular traffic earlier.

The operationalisation of the DND-Jaitpur section fully connects Delhi and nearby NCR areas to the country’s longest access-controlled expressway. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway was originally planned to run from Sohna to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) near Mumbai. In August 2018, NHAI proposed extending the alignment directly to the DND Flyway to ensure the highway corridor began directly from Delhi.
