DMRC Opens Partition Horrors Exhibitions at Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate

To mark Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched exhibitions at the Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate metro stations. The displays will remain open for public viewing until August 21.

The exhibitions depict the horrors of partition and highlight its historical impact on the subcontinent. The initiative is designed to offer metro commuters an opportunity to learn about the historical events that unfolded during the partition era.

Anuj Dayal, principal executive director of the DMRC, explained the objective behind the initiative, noting that the observance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day has been envisaged to bring to light the agony, suffering, and pain of millions of people who were the victims of partition.

Dayal added that the installation provides a reflective and educational experience, offering visitors an in-depth understanding of the tragic events surrounding partition.

Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is observed annually on August 14. Commuters traveling through Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate can view the historical exhibits at both stations through August 21.
