Delhi High Court Bomb Threat Declared Hoax Following Extensive Security Sweep

A bomb threat received via email at the Delhi High Court on Friday triggered extensive security checks across the premises before authorities confirmed it was a hoax.

The email was sent at 11:43 am, allegedly warning that explosions would take place at the Delhi High Court at 2:11 pm and at district courts an hour later. The message also made reference to August 15 and contained the warning, “Lal Qila ta nishana hove ga” (the Red Fort will be targeted), claiming that those executing the attack would be dressed in khaki.

Following the receipt of the threat, emergency protocols were activated immediately across the court complex. Bomb detection and disposal squads, sniffer dog units, and personnel from the Delhi Fire Services were deployed to the location, while ambulances were stationed nearby as a precautionary measure.

A senior police officer stated that immediate and coordinated action was initiated in accordance with standard operating procedures. The entire court premises and surrounding areas underwent layered searches and thorough scans conducted by local police alongside specialised bomb detection units.

After comprehensive checks yielded no suspicious items or explosive devices, officials declared the threat a hoax and confirmed that all appropriate safety measures were maintained to secure the area.
