Delhi Police Probe Attempted Fake CBI Raid at Rohini Businessman's House

Delhi Police have launched an investigation into a complaint filed by a businessman alleging that a group of eight to 10 people posing as Central Bureau of Investigation officers attempted to carry out a fake raid at his residence in Rohini.
According to the complaint, the group arrived and gathered outside the businessman's house, claiming to be officers from the central investigating agency. They informed the household that they were there to conduct a formal search of the premises.
The businessman alleged that the individuals attempted to gain entry into the property without showing proper authorisation documents or establishing their detailed identities. Despite facing pressure and threats from the group, the businessman's wife refused to open the main gate to let them inside.
The group of alleged imposters remained stationed outside the residence for nearly one-and-a-half hours. During this period, local neighbours began to assemble at the spot. When the gathered neighbours confronted the group and demanded to see a search warrant and valid departmental authorisation, the individuals reportedly claimed their documents were kept inside their vehicle.
The suspects then walked away under the pretext of retrieving the necessary paperwork from their vehicle. However, they did not return to the scene.
Following the incident, the family contacted the police helpline for assistance, prompting a team of police personnel to reach the location.
Delhi Police have registered a case regarding the matter. Investigators are currently reviewing and analysing CCTV footage from the neighbourhood to identify the individuals involved and establish the sequence of events. Police officials noted that they have detected certain discrepancies in the version of events provided by the complainant as part of their ongoing inquiry.
