Newlywed woman dies in Lodhi Colony fall as family alleges dowry murder

A 28-year-old newlywed woman died under suspicious circumstances after falling from a building at the NDMC Flats in Palika Kunj, Lodhi Colony. The victim, identified as Aakriti, was found lying on the ground outside the residential complex.
Following the incident, Aakriti was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
Aakriti was a resident of Pushp Vihar and worked as a sales executive at a company located in Chhatarpur. She had recently married on April 24.
Her family has alleged that she was murdered, accusing her husband and her in-laws of ongoing dowry harassment and physical abuse. Aakriti's brother claimed that the in-laws are attempting to portray a murder as a suicide.
Rejecting the possibility of suicide, family members described Aakriti as a mentally strong woman who would not have taken her own life.
The Delhi Police have initiated proceedings under Section 196 of the Bharat Nyay Samhita. Additionally, a magisterial inquiry has been sought to look into the matter.
Police authorities stated that the investigation is currently in progress, and they are examining all aspects and potential angles of the case to determine the exact cause of death.
