Man Arrested for Stabbing 21-Year-Old Model to Death in West Delhi's Tilak Nagar

Delhi Police have arrested a 28-year-old man in the early hours of Friday following an encounter for allegedly murdering his 21-year-old partner, a model and content creator, at her home in Old Mahavir Nagar in west Delhi's Tilak Nagar.
The victim was identified as Muskan Sharma, a fashion content creator and bridal-wear model who was also pursuing her graduation through Delhi University's School of Open Learning. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Imran, a resident of Khyala who is currently unemployed, was apprehended after multiple police teams were deployed to trace him.
According to investigators, the incident took place around 6 pm on Wednesday while Sharma was alone at her residence in Old Mahavir Nagar. Imran arrived at the house, where an argument broke out between them. He allegedly strangled Sharma before stabbing her three times in the chest and abdomen. A domestic help discovered her lying in a pool of blood roughly an hour later.
Police said CCTV footage showed Imran entering the building around 5:40 pm and leaving by 6:05 pm. Investigators believe the attack may have been premeditated, noting that the suspect was carrying a knife when he arrived at the house.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Hareshwar V Swami said the victim's brother pointed investigators toward Imran during questioning, stating that his sister knew a man from the nearby area.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the two had known each other for two years and had been in a relationship for approximately 18 months after meeting at a local gym where Imran was previously employed.
Police officers stated that phone chats retrieved from the victim's phone indicated a pattern of harassment and frequent arguments, with Imran accusing Sharma of cheating.
Investigators also revealed that Imran had a prior criminal record and was booked in 2021 under Section 308 (attempted culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code, a case that remains under trial. He had also spent time at a drug de-addiction centre.
