Tilak Nagar Murder: Accused Imran Arrested Following Police Encounter

Delhi Police have arrested Imran, alias Aqib, after an encounter in connection with the murder of 21-year-old Muskan in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar. The suspect sustained a gunshot injury during the late-night arrest operation and was taken into custody before being shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Muskan was alone at her residence when she was attacked, according to police officials. Following the incident, police launched a manhunt across three states before apprehending Imran.
Investigators stated that Imran had been heavily dependent on drugs. In July, he had been sent to a drug de-addiction centre following a formal complaint filed by Muskan’s family. Her relatives alleged that Imran had been harassing her for several months and frequently stalked her. While police noted that the two had previously been in a relationship, Muskan’s family has denied that claim.
Police are also looking into a meeting between Muskan and Imran that took place at a hotel on August 20, days prior to the murder. Investigators are currently examining the circumstances surrounding that meeting and tracing the sequence of events in the days leading up to the killing.
An employee at a local gym where both individuals worked out stated that Muskan had been visiting the facility for three to four months, while he had worked there for four to five months. The staff member noted that Imran was removed from the gym around two months ago after allegedly attempting suicide at his rented accommodation.
According to police records, Imran had prior criminal involvement and was previously linked to a 2021 case involving assault and culpable homicide. Further investigation into the Tilak Nagar murder case remains underway while Imran receives medical care under custody.
