Luv Kush Ramlila at Red Fort to Feature 4-Storey Stage and AI Visuals

The annual Luv Kush Ramlila at the Red Fort in Delhi is gearing up for its upcoming Dussehra production, featuring a cast of television actors alongside major stage expansions and AI-powered visual technology for its 10-day showcase.
Organisers have redesigned the production setup to appeal to younger audiences. According to Arjun Kumar, president of the Luv Kush Ramlila Committee, the performance stage has been expanded from three storeys to four levels. Behind the main stage, the committee is constructing a replica of the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai.
The upcoming edition will also incorporate 3D mapping, AI-assisted graphics, and enhanced lighting and sound effects. Among the planned sequences, the character of Hanuman will fly nearly 200 feet in the air using cranes while carrying Ram and Lakshman on his shoulders, with the practical stunt enhanced using artificial intelligence visuals displayed across large LED screens.
Television actor Devesh Sharma will portray the role of Lord Ram. During a preview of the performance, Sharma recited lines from an exchange between Ram and Lakshman, noting that the character's core teaching centres on maintaining respectful dialogue even during disagreements.
Actor Kaveri Priyam will play Sita, marking her first role in a mythological production. Priyam noted that taking on the iconic role presents both a challenge and an opportunity to learn from her fellow performers.
The role of Hanuman will be played by Pankaj Kamad, who previously shared the screen with Sharma in a television serial where Sharma played Lakshman. Kamad described taking on the role at the Red Fort as the fulfilment of a long-held ambition.
According to committee officials, including chairman Pawan Gupta and general secretary Subhash Goyal, work on the visual effects and graphics has already started. Organisers stated that the combination of upgraded staging, advanced technology, and social media engagement is intended to keep the long-standing Ramlila tradition engaging for contemporary audiences.
