Jewellery Worth Over Rs 2 Crore Stolen From Car in Karol Bagh

Gold and diamond jewellery worth more than Rs 2 crore was allegedly stolen from a parked car after thieves smashed its rear window on Arya Samaj Road in Karol Bagh, police said.
The victim, identified as Kanhaiya Lal, is a jewellery businessman associated with the firm SKG Kundan Crafts. Lal had arrived in the capital on August 18 along with his son, Dhruv Soni, and a staff member to conduct business-related marketing activities.
According to the police complaint, the group was transporting three backpacks and a suitcase. The backpacks contained a substantial consignment of gold and diamond jewellery, alongside a laptop and Aadhaar cards. The accompanying suitcase contained clothing.
On the afternoon of August 19, Lal visited multiple jewellery outlets across Greater Kailash-M Block Market as part of his business rounds. Later in the evening, the group travelled to Karol Bagh and parked their vehicle opposite Canara Bank on Arya Samaj Road at around 5:30 pm.
Lal, his son, and their employee left all three backpacks and the suitcase inside the car before walking to a nearby Bikanervala restaurant to have dinner.
When the group returned to the parked vehicle at approximately 7:15 pm, they found the car's rear window broken. Upon inspection, all three backpacks containing the jewellery, laptop, and identification documents, as well as the suitcase, had been stolen from inside the vehicle.
Police were informed of the incident following the discovery of the theft, and a complaint was lodged regarding the stolen valuables.
