IP University Corrects Spot Round 2 Seat Allotment Errors Across Five Programmes

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in New Delhi withheld its initial spot round 2 online results for five programmes on Saturday following complaints from candidates regarding discrepancies in seat allotments. The university later released a revised list in the evening.

The issue affected five major academic programmes: Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), and Bachelor of Laws (LLB).

In a notification issued early in the day, the university stated that upon verifying aspirants' complaints, it appeared that a few candidates were inadvertently allotted seats due to a technical error in the counselling software.

Vice-chancellor Mahesh Verma explained that the glitch did not originate from the university. According to Verma, the National Informatics Centre, which hosts the university's online admission and counselling portal, mistakenly included candidates who had either withdrawn their applications or had not given consent to participate in the spot round 2 process.

The correction followed the university's notification on Friday detailing the schedule for spot round 3 offline counselling, which had been set to begin on August 23. In a separate notice issued on Saturday, the university withdrew that schedule and announced that a fresh schedule would be uploaded shortly.
