Delhi Police Probe Jangpura Robbery-Murder After CCTV Spots Suspect

The Delhi Police are investigating the robbery and murder of a 69-year-old woman in Jangpura after obtaining CCTV footage that captured a suspect fleeing the area after the crime on Friday morning.

According to police sources, surveillance cameras in the locality captured the suspect entering the lane at around 3.15 am. The suspect was later seen on camera crossing a nearby park and running towards a drain after 4 am. Based on the footage, investigators suspect that the individual may have fled towards Sunlight Colony or the BRT corridor.

Investigators examining the crime scene found no signs of forced entry into the residence. A police source stated that the woman routinely unlocked her door around 3 am to light diyas. Police suspect the robber conducted reconnaissance over a couple of days, noticed her morning routine, and slipped inside through the unlocked door when arriving to commit the robbery.

As part of the investigation, police teams have questioned several people who had visited the colony or the victim's house over the past 10 to 15 days. Among those questioned by investigators are two carpenters and a car cleaner. Police are also verifying the movements of other individuals who may have had access to the area.
