Delhi Police Bust Interstate Car Theft Syndicate, Rohini Resident Among Three Arrested

Delhi Police has busted an organised interstate auto-lifting syndicate that allegedly stole high-end cars from across Delhi-NCR and trafficked them to various states, arresting three men including 35-year-old Amit Nagar, a resident of Rohini.
According to the police, the syndicate had been actively operating for nearly 15 years. Over this period, the interstate gang is alleged to have stolen and supplied more than 100 luxury vehicles to receivers spread across several states.
Police identified the other two arrested accused as Atom Jagat Singh, aged 45, and Potsangbam Mukesh Singh, aged 28, both residents of Manipur. Nagar allegedly functioned as the central coordinator of the entire network, managing operations between different members who handled dedicated tasks.
The gang's modus operandi involved using duplicate electronic keys and advanced technical devices to bypass the electronic security mechanisms of high-end vehicles. Once the cars were lifted, the syndicate took elaborate steps to mask their identities and evade detection by law enforcement agencies during transit.
To conceal the origins of the stolen vehicles, the accused fitted them with fake High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) and prepared forged registration certificates. The syndicate then transported the cars through interstate routes. While some vehicles were sold directly to buyers in different states, others were allegedly purchased by underground groups operating near the India-Myanmar border.
The police operation led to the recovery of five stolen vehicles, duplicate keys, 104 forged HSRPs, and 24 forged registration certificates. In addition, officers seized mobile phones and a pre-activated SIM card that were used by the syndicate members to coordinate vehicle thefts and logistics.
