Delhi Delegation Visits Amaravati to Study Industrial Practices

Delhi Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa visited Vijayawada on Tuesday to study Amaravati’s integrated capital planning, industrial development, and technology-led governance. The study tour was part of the Delhi government’s initiative to develop a future-ready industrial ecosystem in the national capital, according to an official government statement.

Sirsa was accompanied by senior officials from the Delhi government and the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC). During the visit, the delegation held discussions with Andhra Pradesh ministers Nara Lokesh and T G Bharath, along with senior representatives from the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) and the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC).

The Delhi delegation reviewed several key components of Amaravati’s urban and industrial framework, including its greenfield development model, voluntary land pooling mechanism, underground utility corridors, flood-management systems, and planned green spaces. Bilateral discussions also covered real-time governance frameworks, education, curriculum development, and cluster-based economic growth models.

In his meeting with Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister T G Bharath, Sirsa focused on industrial policies, investment facilitation strategies, and regional industrial ecosystems. The delegation received a detailed briefing on Amaravati’s proposed Quantum Valley project, an initiative designed to foster an ecosystem for quantum computing, information technology firms, global capability centres, and advanced technological enterprises.

Sirsa stated that the Delhi government does not intend to replicate another city's framework outright, but rather aims to study successful implementations to create tailored solutions for Delhi. He noted that the administration will evaluate practices involving integrated planning, land management, green infrastructure, flood mitigation, and emerging technologies to assess their feasibility and relevance for the capital's industrial zones.

The tour of Vijayawada followed the delegation’s visit to Hyderabad on Monday, where officials examined startup incubation, prototyping facilities, and industrial infrastructure at T-Works, T-Hub, and Future City.
