Delhi Police Transfers 43 IPS Officers in Major Administrative Reshuffle

Delhi Police on Tuesday ordered a major reshuffle involving the transfer of 43 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across key operational divisions, marking the first large-scale administrative reassignment since senior IPS officer Anurag Kumar was appointed police commissioner last month. The changes affect administrative and district postings across the capital, including the New Delhi district covering Connaught Place.
The transfer order reassigns eight special commissioners, several joint commissioners, and 21 deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) and additional DCPs to new responsibilities.
Among the special commissioners, Ajay Chaudhar was transferred to the traffic division from the protective security division, which oversees security for VIPs and high-security installations. Special CP Atul Katiyar was shifted from vigilance to head the welfare and legal division. Vivek Kishore and Sindhu Pillai, who joined from other states, were given charge of the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) and vigilance, respectively. Pillai will also oversee perception management and the media cell.
In the joint commissioner rank, Suman Goyal was appointed joint CP of the western range, while Rajneesh Gupta, formerly joint CP of Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO), will take charge of the transport range. Deepak Purohit, who served as joint CP of the New Delhi district, was moved to joint CP of licensing. His batchmate Nupur Prasad, who previously led the EOW, replaces him as joint CP of the New Delhi district. Jatin Narwal and Milind Mahadeo Dumbere were appointed joint commissioners for the special branch and eastern range, respectively.
