BJP Leader Shehzad Poonawalla Resigns From All Party Posts

NEW DELHI — Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shehzad Poonawalla has once again submitted his resignation from all party posts and primary membership, urging the party leadership to accept his decision after an earlier resignation was turned down.
In a communication addressed to party leadership in New Delhi, Poonawalla requested to be relieved from his role as National Spokesperson as well as from his active primary membership. He had previously tendered his resignation from all party positions on July 30, citing pressing financial and personal circumstances, but the party had asked him to reconsider.
Reiterating his decision, Poonawalla noted that recent events involving certain individuals had reinforced his resolve to step down. He announced plans to transition to the private sector due to financial and personal circumstances, while stating that he would continue to support the party's vision and work wherever possible.
Poonawalla expressed gratitude to senior BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda, and BL Santosh, for their guidance during his tenure.
Reflecting on his time with the party, Poonawalla stated that he was grateful for the platform provided to him as a young, Pasmanda Muslim, non-dynast leader over the past five years. He affirmed that while he is stepping away from the formal organisational structure, his commitment to the broader vision of Viksit Bharat remains intact.
