West Delhi YouTuber arrested for harassing and filming women to gain followers

A 32-year-old social media content creator was arrested on Friday in Subhash Nagar, West Delhi, for allegedly stalking, harassing, and filming women and minor girls on roads to upload the videos online for social media followers. The accused, identified as Gurman Singh, was apprehended following a police investigation into a complaint filed on June 2.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Hareshwar Swami, the investigation began after a man approached the cyber police on June 2. The complainant alleged that an unknown person had deliberately hit the two-wheeler his daughter was riding, passed inappropriate remarks, and used abusive language. The complainant later discovered a video of the incident uploaded on a YouTube channel and a Facebook page.
A police team led by Inspector Vikas Kumar Buldak initiated a probe and found that the accused's social media accounts featured multiple videos targeting women riders and minor girls. In these videos, the creator would hit women on two-wheelers, strike up conversations, follow them, and pass lewd remarks.
Based on the video evidence, police identified Singh and arrested him at his residence in Subhash Nagar. During interrogation, Singh reportedly disclosed that he shot the videos with the objective of increasing his social media followers, generating viral content, and earning revenue.
Prior to his arrest, Singh had amassed a significant online following, including over 72,000 subscribers and 9 million views on YouTube, as well as more than 200,000 followers on Facebook.
DCP Swami stated that interrogation led to the recovery of multiple videos, screenshots, account-related data, and other digital evidence linking Singh to the crimes. Police have initiated necessary action to take down all of the accused's social media accounts.
Efforts were made to contact the family of the accused for comment, but no response was received.
