Unauthorised Structures Removed Outside Pakistan High Commission in Delhi

Authorities in New Delhi on Thursday removed unauthorised structures and queue-management barriers located outside the Pakistan High Commission compound.

The cleared installations included queue liners set up near the visa section of the Pakistani diplomatic mission. These structures had been positioned along a lane situated outside the approved boundary of the compound.

In addition to the queue liners, Indian authorities removed traffic bollards and barricades that had previously stood around the perimeter of the diplomatic mission.

Following the demolition work, rubble and debris were seen scattered across the paved space outside the mission. The cleared material included broken metal railings, gates, bricks, and fragments of concrete. Sections of white metal fencing and corrugated roofing that formed part of the outer structures were also completely taken down.

The visa section of the high commission remained visible amid the surrounding debris. Service counters at the site included windows marked “Window 1”, “Pakistani Passport Only”, and “Window-5 / Collection of Visa Applications”.

Portions of the structure surrounding the service windows showed visible damage, with sections of masonry and plaster broken away during the clearance. Broken fencing and other construction debris were left lying near the application counters.

The action in the capital comes days after authorities in Pakistan took down security barricades and parking poles situated outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
