Four siblings arrested in Jahangirpuri for running interstate drug syndicate

Delhi Police have arrested a man and his three sisters for allegedly running an interstate drug syndicate from multiple properties in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, officials reported on Saturday. The joint operation, conducted alongside the Drugs Control department, led to the seizure of psychotropic substances, over ₹22 lakh in cash, jewellery worth more than ₹40 lakh, and property documents for 11 flats.

The arrested siblings were identified as Amit, 30; Paro, 28; Usha, 25; and Kanta, 35, all of whom reside in Jahangirpuri. They have been booked under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Akanksha Yadav, the authorities had been working on the case since June 1 after receiving information about the illicit drug network. Over the past week, police conducted a series of raids across the locality to dismantle the syndicate.

The crackdown began when police apprehended Paro and Usha near D-Block in Jahangirpuri. Their interrogation led officers to another local house, triggering overnight raids.

At the first raided house in D-Block, police arrested Kanta and recovered 1,300 Addnok-N tablets containing Buprenorphine and Naloxone, 310 Avil injections, 652 syringe needles, and ₹1.25 lakh in cash. The prohibited tablets weighed 268 grams and have an estimated international market value of around ₹7 lakh.

A second raid at a nearby house yielded 25 Avil injections. A third raid at a premises used by an associate, identified as Sachin alias Chanakya, led to the recovery of 400 Avil injections, 1,880 syringe needles, and ₹63,000 in cash.

A fourth raid at a property owned by Amit led to his arrest and the recovery of over ₹20 lakh in cash, 241 grams of gold jewellery, and 2.4 kg of silver ornaments, which police suspect are proceeds from drug sales.

In total, police seized ₹22.02 lakh in cash, gold jewellery worth approximately ₹35 lakh, and silver articles valued at ₹6.2 lakh. They also recovered documents for 11 flats, each measuring about 25 square yards, with a total estimated value of ₹1.5 crore. The properties are reportedly in Paro's name. A scooter registered in Amit's name was also seized.

DCP Yadav stated that the investigation is now focused on tracing the financial trail, identifying the source of the drugs, and arresting other syndicate members, including the associate Chanakya.
