Delhi University Opens CSAS Portal For 71,600 Undergraduate Seats

Delhi University in New Delhi commenced its undergraduate admission process for the 2026-27 academic session with the launch of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for online registration on Friday. The opening of the portal allows candidates to apply for 71,600 available seats across 73 undergraduate programmes and more than 100 B.A. programme combinations.
According to an official statement released on Saturday, the registration process will be conducted in two phases. Under the first phase, candidates must register on the CSAS portal using their Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) application number. To ensure a hassle-free experience, candidates' essential details, including their name, date of birth, photographs, and signature, have been auto-integrated into the system.
The launch of the registration portal follows the declaration of the CUET-UG results by the National Testing Agency (NTA) earlier this week. Candidates can use their test scores to select from programmes offered across 67 colleges affiliated with the university.
During the second phase, applicants will submit their specific preferences for the undergraduate courses and colleges they wish to pursue. DU Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi confirmed that the university is offering 71,600 seats this year. The university stated that the schedule for the second phase will be announced shortly.
While filling out the application, candidates are required to provide details of their Class 12 stream and board examination results. Addressing concerns of students awaiting re-evaluation results, university officials stated that the CSAS portal will remain open for several weeks. Students in this situation are advised to submit their original marks first and update them once their revised results are declared.
After the completion of the registration phases, the university will initiate the third phase, which is the allocation-cum-admission process. Seats will be allotted based on CUET scores and candidate preferences. Once a seat is allocated, candidates can confirm admission through document verification and fee payment, or opt for an upgrade in subsequent rounds.
