Businessman's Wife Foils Attempted Fake CBI Raid at Rohini Residence

A suspected fake Central Bureau of Investigation raid was foiled at a businessman’s residence in Delhi’s Rohini after his wife refused to grant entry to a group of individuals claiming to be agency officers.

According to a complaint lodged with the police, a group of approximately eight to 10 people arrived at the Rohini house and informed the occupants that they had come to conduct a CBI search operation. The individuals allegedly attempted to enter the premises without presenting valid authorization or establishing their identities.

The businessman's wife refused to open the gate despite facing alleged pressure and threats from the group. Following her refusal, the suspected impostors remained stationed outside the residence for about 1.5 hours.

During this time, local neighbours gathered at the scene and began questioning the group regarding their search warrant and required legal authorizations. When the gathered residents asked to see a copy of the official notice, the alleged fake officers claimed the paperwork was in their vehicle and departed from the spot on the pretext of retrieving it.

The complaint states that the individuals were wearing clothing bearing the CBI insignia and carried identity cards claiming they were official CBI personnel.

Following the departure of the group, the family contacted the emergency police helpline number 112. A police team subsequently arrived at the residence to investigate the matter.
